About Me

My Background
Changes have been part of my life since my earliest childhood. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work with charismatic entrepreneurs and international companies, witnessing the rapid rise and fall of the dot-com era, traveling around the world to work in interesting cities and countries. And also losing my job twice, along the way.
Today, having passed the age of 60, I have slowed down a bit and am grateful for the fact that I have been able to live a life that has been so varied and surprising. Even though not everything has always been perfect, it has definitely been enriching.
It makes me sad to see how many people around me - even those who are young and unencumbered - desperately cling to the status quo, even though their jobs, their partnerships or their current environment makes them unhappy.
In my work as a coach, I do my best to change this situation. From my point of view, there are four ways to deal being unhappy:
1.) To leave the current situation.
2.) Try to change something about the situation.
3.) Change your attitude toward the situation. Or
4.) endure the situation.
This last response should only be considered as a short-term solution, since it does nothing to relieve the sense of unhappiness. Simply leaving is often not an option for many of my clients (at least, initially). That is why I usually work with them to change something in the situation, along with generating a change of attitude. But, leaving an untenable situation is also an option that
is not as rare as you might think.
“I always wanted to stay with the status quo, but was completely unhappy. It was only by working together with Karin that it became clear what was really important to me. And that led to a new, more satisfied life.” Frank, Sales Manager
My Philosophy
Every individual responds to a given situation individually.
What might be the source of great happiness for one person, could be a nightmare for another. Every human being has different needs, plans, life patterns and goals. In other words each of us has a unique personality.
This is why each of my clients is the person with the most expertise and insight into themselves. Sometimes, however, it is necessary to interact with a neutral outside observer in order to become fully aware of what you sincerely desire to achieve.
It is not my intention to offer solutions that are appropriate for me. I consider it my task to help you to find solutions that meet your needs and fulfill your goals. And ultimately, because you will have developed these yourself, it is very likely that you will fully implement and maintain them.
“I always felt vulnerable when facing changes. With Karin's help I realized how I can actively shape a Change in my favor." Eva, Office Employee
